INDEPENDENT RESEARCH IN SELS Prerequisites: Open to sophmores, juniors or seniors in SELS majors with a GPA of over 3.0 at the time of enrollment and permission of instructor Elective for SELS majors CATALOG DESCRIPTION A laboratory or field investigation of an enviromental and life science research problem, performed independently by student, under the supervision of a faculty member. May be repeated for credit, up to a total of six credits; however, only four credits may be used to fulfill major elective requirement. One credit is equal to three hours of work a week throughout a typical semester.
