EDUC-3050 Literacy Assessment and Intervention
(COMMUNITY-ENGAGED LEARNING) Emphasis is placed on literacy assessment and intervention across K-5 grade levels particularly for students with reading/writing difficulties. Students will learn to administer and use various literacy assessments as part of data-based decision making, identify instructional goals, and implement intervention sessions in a field-based experience at a local school. Additionally, students will demonstrate proficiency of Standard 3--Literacy Assessment--of the Idaho Comprehensive Literacy Standards. Other InTASC standards emphasized are Standards 6--Assessment, 9--Professional Learning and Ethical Practice, and 10--Leadership and Collaboration. Formerly EDU-304.
