EDUC-1000 Introduction to Teaching

(COMMUNITY-ENGAGED LEARNING) An exploration of education that emphasizes multiple perspectives on teaching, students and the contexts of schooling. Introduces a conceptual framework of the types of knowledge necessary to become a reflective, problem-solving practitioner who scrutinizes conventional wisdom. Involves 10-12 hours of field work in the schools, conducting observations, tutoring, planning, preparing, and teaching a lesson and other activities in a K-12 setting. This course also introduce students to the Idaho Core Teacher Standards. Formerly EDU-202.
