Spanish Major (B.A.)

Major Requirements

40 credits

Students must take language courses in ascending sequence; students may not count for credit toward any Spanish program (major or minor) a lower language course than one they have already completed. Students who choose to take a course at The College of Idaho that is lower than a transfer course from another institution forfeit the equivalent transfer credits toward the major (e.g., a student may not count Spanish I from The College of Idaho and Spanish I credits from another institution).

At a minimum, one-third of the coursework for the major must be completed at The College of Idaho. Students who place out of language credits will still be required to complete 40 credits for the major. Additional credits may be earned from other Spanish elective courses. International and bilingual students with high Spanish language proficiency are encouraged to complete the Spanish major.
