SPAN-3203 Beyond Boundaries: Science & Supernat

(TEXTS & CONTEXTS, ENGAGING DIFFERENCE) This course approaches Spanish and Latin American fantastic and sci-fi literature of the last 100 years, focusing on how the physical and chemical sciences of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries have impacted these genres. Students will explore the evolution of concepts such as thermodynamics, the theory of relativity, and quantum theory, analyzing their influence on literary and cultural thought while gaining insights into the cultural, social, and aesthetic values these works portray. Taught in Spanish.
