PHI-210 Human Nature
A study of philosophical questions regarding what it is to be human, with particular attention to those posed by a scientific understanding of the world. Topics may include: Is there such a thing as human nature? How is human nature conceived of in different cultural contexts? Are humans inherently good or bad? Are we products of nature or nurture or both? How biased are conceptions of human nature? How have conceptions of human nature been used to justify marginalization and domination of different groups?
