Child and Adolescent Development Certificate

The Child and Adolescent Development Certificate prepares students to be knowledgeable and skilled support systems for youth. Students gain in-depth knowledge of how we develop from birth through childhood and the teen years within social-ecological contexts. Applied experiences build students' skills with developmentally appropriate practices to support growth across physical, cognitive, and social-emotional domains. This certificate is designed so that students can immediately use their improved knowledge and skills in their work, internships, and volunteer activities with youth. This certificate can be combined with any major, including any of the psychology programs, and especially benefits students aiming for careers in healthcare, counseling, education, social work, public policy, occupational therapy, and related fields.
