DEDL 603 Legal Aspects of Education Governance
Federal and state laws and regulations will be examined as they apply to school districts, students and personnel. through understanding the complexities of court decisions and their impact on education, candidates will apply their knowledge to conflict resolution, liability and due process. Emphasis will be placed on the No Child Left Behind law and the Massachusetts Education Reform Act of 1993. Special education law will be reviewed and the impact these laws have had on the delivery of education to students with academic, physical and mental disabilities.
