EDUC 211 Physical Education for Elementary Teachers*
This course will address the value of physical activity and fitness for
elementary children and the teaching skills and techniques that
encourage successful movement for all children. Students will learn how to
integrate physical activity with other academic subject areas. The course
requires 10 hours of field work in an approved educational setting.

- Students will understand the value of physical education as a vital part of a wellness model in an elementary curriculum.
- Students will demonstrate effective planning formats for writing lesson plans for age-appropriate games, fitness activities, health concepts, and integration of activity into other subject areas.
- Students will effectively design, plan and implement a wellness plan or teach enjoyable, creative, activity lessons in an elementary school setting.
