DIET 125 Preventative Maintenance
Instructor will cover all Preventive Maintenance tasks on trucks as outlined in the NATEF task list covering air brakes, electrical, air and hydraulic brake systems, power steering, suspension and controls, frame and cab fifth wheel, A/C systems, clutch and drive transmission. The students will make the repairs and adjustments as outlined in the proper service manual. Prerequisite: Instructor Permission.

- practice correct procedures and practices of vehicle inspection in a technical and learning environment
- practice and follow all safety procedures and demonstrate shop cleanliness while working on preventative maintenance
- practice and pass the Annual Federal Vehicle Inspection and DOT
- understand all preventive maintenance tasks on trucks and equipment completing the NATEF task list standards and preventative check sheets
- demonstrate proper safety standards and in handling the storage and disposal of chemicals and materials in accordance to federal safety and environmental standards
