III. Catalog Course Description

In this course the students will diagnose engine failures including both mechanical and electrical problems. The course will focus on the use of current scan tools and interfacing equipment for modern diesel engines and emission systems. Prerequisites: DIET 115 and Instructor Permission.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • follow all safety procedures and shop safety and cleanliness standards
  • show punctuality in being ready for work and knowing how to use time clocks
  • demonstrate the proper way to work with others as a team and working on CSI projects showing others courtesy and respect
  • complete all NATEF tasks and performance objectives as outlined in the student handbook
  • demonstrate knowledge of time tickets, being legible and being able to work in a flat rate of plus 50% or less
  • will be graded upon completion of the performance objective and the cumulative record using rating scale as outlined in the students handbook
