ID5100 ETHICS IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

An examination of ethical issues arising form developments in biotechnology and related areas. Consideration will be given to the goals, the possibility of unforeseen outcomes, and the implications of the new developments. Some attention will be paid to business ethics, to issues in risk assessment and communication, and to the issue of fairness in receiving benefits and facing risks among different population groups. Prerequisites: Matriculation in Biotechnology Masters Program or permission of instructor Limitations on Enrollment: Biotechnology Masters students only, maximum capacity 20 students.
