BIO5710 Nucleic Acid Sequencing/Sequence Anlysis

Laboratory methods for isolating and sequencing DNA and RNA. Computer analysis of nucleic acid sequence data, including alignment, database manag ement, and genealogical inference. A thorough discussion of mutation mechanisms and molecular evolution, and implications of these principles in reserach environment, will be included. 1 hour lecture, 3 hour laboratory Prerequisites: Biology 5000 and Biology 5700, or permission of instructor.
