Students will be taught different kinds and types of joinery for windows, doors, drawers, furniture, and cabinets. Students will demonstrate an understanding of these joineries by tests and manufacturing of joints with the help of the instructor. Students will understand which joint to use for different parts of an application.

III. Catalog Course Description
Students will be taught different kinds and types of joinery for windows, doors, drawers, furniture, and cabinets. Students will demonstrate an understanding of these joineries by tests and manufacturing of joints with the help of the instructor. Students will understand which joint to use for different parts of an application.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- The Course objective is to have all students pass the written and performance tests. This will be assessed through tests whether passed or not.
- Outcomes will be achieved through course evaluations on homework assignments, and video reports.
- Completion of all tasks assigned.
- Completion of group projects such as garage/shed construction.
- Passing of National Center of Construction quizzes.
- To have a firm understanding of the construction industry, and some of its techniques.
- This is an introductory into construction. By dealing with each student, or each building group we will have formative evaluations, by asking and answering questions on a one on one basis, and reinstructing when needed to complete each task and goal.
- And a final evaluation will be given on the class and the student and instructor when course is completed. Then we can assess the entire class to make changes and or improvements to this education in construction.
V. Topical Outline (Course Content)
Intense study of all kinds & types of woodworking joinery for cabinets, doors, drawers, finish carpentry, and furniture of all kinds. Students will demonstrate an understanding of these by tests and manufacturing of joints, with the help of the instructor. Students will understand which joint to use for different parts and applications. At least some 23-28 joints will be taught in this block. Students will be taught and will demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of all joints.
