HIS-350 Creating Russia: Extending Europe into Eurasia

An examination of Russia as the eastern border of Europe from the sixteenth century to the present. The course will consider the role of shifting empires and state boundaries in the definition of East and West, and explore the development of the Russian state in its current form.
