ECN-285 Economics at the Movies

The foundation of economics is the human person. Without human beings there is no economy. Therefore, an understanding of what it means to be a human being is the beginning of understanding economics. This course will investigate the fundamental qualities of human beings that generate economic life. The course will be based on foundational documents, including Genesis, Adam Smith's Theory of Moral Sentiments, and Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. The course will also be using films that illustrate the ideas in the readings.
