CHEM-1000 Introduction to Chemistry

(SCIENTIFIC REASONING NO LAB, SCIENCE & SOCIETY) An introduction to the basic theories and concepts associated with the field of chemistry, including the chemical and physical properties of matter, elements and compounds and chemical reactions. This class will specifically provide exposure to the mathematical techniques that are used to explore chemical principles. Additionally, this class will give students an opportunity to become familiar with basic laboratory skills and techniques. This course is intended for non-majors or majors who have a weak background in the physical and natural sciences. This course may not be substituted for CHEM-1011. Formerly CHE-140.
