PAS 5106 CLINICAL SKILLS I
Clinical Skills I introduces students to foundational patient care competencies essential for effective physician assistant practice. This course emphasizes comprehensive and culturally responsive history-taking, systematic physical examination techniques, and developmentally appropriate assessment of HEENT, dermatologic, psychiatric, and genetic systems. Through a combination of didactic instruction, skills laboratories, simulation, and standardized patient encounters, students develop proficiency in clinical communication, diagnostic reasoning, and professional documentation. The course integrates evidence-based practice, patient-centered care principles, and interprofessional communication to prepare students for progressive clinical responsibilities within the didactic and clinical curriculum.
