2025-2026 Graduate Catalog

PAS 5102 PHYSIOLOGY I

This course introduces foundational principles of human physiology with emphasis on the normal function and regulation of sensory, integumentary, and neurobehavioral systems. Students examine cellular, membrane, and molecular mechanisms that support homeostasis and system integration. Instruction focuses on physiologic processes underlying vision, hearing, balance, skin barrier function, sleep, mood regulation, and circadian rhythm. Learning experiences emphasize regulatory pathways, feedback mechanisms, and physiologic adaptation to internal and external stressors. This course provides a functional foundation for subsequent coursework in clinical medicine.
