Program Overview
Mission:
The Drafting and Design Technology program provides the knowledge and skills necessary to secure entry-level employment as a designer or drafter across multiple applications. The program uses current technology and innovative teaching methods and provides pathways into baccalaureate programs.
Description:
This program offers a sequence of courses providing coherent and rigorous content aligned with academic standards and technical knowledge required for careers in architecture, construction, engineering, and manufacturing disciplines. Instruction includes engineering and architectural drawings, two-dimensional and three-dimensional computer-aided drafting, and solid modeling.

Outcomes:
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Apply basic drafting skills.
- Prepare mechanical and architectural drawings.
- Prepare computer-aided drawings.
- Prepare civil drafting drawings.
- Execute analytical, practical, and creative drafting and design tasks.
- Communicate effectively through written and verbal means.
- Demonstrate entrepreneurship and employability skills.
Completion Requirement:
- Earn a grade "C" or better in all program-specific and prerequisite courses.
