ENGL-3350 Advanced Postcolonial Literature

An intensive study of the methods of colonial control in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, and the long-lasting effects of colonial systems in postcolonial nations. Course will center the poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and movies of decolonial and resistance writers and artists and how postcolonial authors tackle systems of power and oppression within current and historical geopolitics. Topics vary. Formerly ENG-375.
