(SELF & SOCIETY, ENGAGING DIFFERENCE) An anthropological examination of the impacts of world systems on human diversity. Topics will include global capitalism, nation-state formations/evolutions, international economic institutions (e.g., IMF, World Bank, WTO), trade policies, food systems, mass migrations, and communication technologies, and the effects of these on local cultures and identities.
