STME 1800 LIVING SYSTEMS II LIVING SYSTEMS II

Second part of the Living Systems/Biology unit. Introduction to mechanisms of Darwinian evolution. Taxonomy and survey of the living world. Introduction to organismal biology. Introduction to plant biology and diversity. Introduction to basic animal anatomy and physiology including nervous, reproductive, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive and immune systems. Basic virology. Ecology and aspects of ecosystem will be covered. Emphasis will be on topics needed for further study in areas of relevance for biomedicine, biotechnology and biology education NJCSTM tracks. Type of Course: Required Course for Biology Education, Biomedicine and Molecular Biology NJCSTM Programs. Elective Course for all other NJCSTM Programs. Prerequisite: STME 1700 & STME 1799 Co-requisite: STME 1899
