Plant Propagation introduces students to the many methods of reproducing plants both sexually and asexually through lecture, demonstration and hands-on lab work. IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate different types of grafting and budding techniques and describe their uses.
  • Propagate an herbaceous plant from stem and leaf cuttings.
  • Propagate a plant from seed.
  • Demonstrate aseptic micro propagation techniques and discuss the process.
  • Explain environmental factors necessary for propagation success.
  • Identify proper tools needed and plant parts relevant to each propagation process.
