This wellness course introduces students to all seven dimensions of wellness (physical, intellectural, emotional, spiritual, social, environmental, financial) and allows students to practice making changes in at leas three dimensions by establishing, practicing, and reflecting on individualized SMART goals related to nurition and fitness, This course is designed to introduce students to the basic elements of sports nutrition. This course will discuss roles played by carbohydrate, fat, protein, water and key vitamins and minerals as they relate to physical exercuse. Students will learn what nutrients would benefit them before and after exercise of a sporting event, will understand the principles of healthy meal planning, and will identify safe sports supplements. This course meets the general education requirement for wellness.
