Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this major, students will be able to:

  1. Analyze the role of media and techniques in art-making and demonstrate these techniques in their own creative work;
  2. Demonstrate the application of theories of design in the production of their own creative work;
  3. Apply, either in writing or orally, theories of design and visual analysis to inform thoughtful critique of artworks;
  4. Demonstrate engagement with the visual production of non-dominant cultures and subcultures; and
  5. Apply professional presentation practices and standards in the visual arts and visual communications to create a portfolio of work.
