EDU-517 General Methods

This course is an introduction to general methods of teaching in K-12 settings.  The course will focus on understanding, designing, and implementing a classroom management plan, lesson planning and alignment with core standards, integrating literacy instruction and culturally responsive pedagogy across content areas, learning various teaching and lesson approaches, and reflecting on teaching and students’ learning. Teacher candidates will also identify evidence-based practices and design a curriculum map for their individual chosen grade-level and content area.
