DMSC-815 Patient Safety and Quality Improvement

An exploration of critical concepts, theories, and practices related to patient safety and quality improvement in healthcare settings. Participants will develop the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute significantly to enhancing healthcare delivery, minimizing errors, improving patient outcomes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Topics to be explored may include introductions to quality improvement methodologies, including quality and safety indicators, the current landscape of patient safety, human factors, and design thinking. Strategies for identifying, mitigating, and preventing medical errors will be examined, and consideration will be given to implementing evidence-based practices to reduce the occurrence of adverse events.
