AY9501 Jyotish for Ayurveda
This course will teach the foundational principles of Jyotish and its association with Ayurveda. Above all the study of Jyotish is the study of time and the practitioners of Indian astrology, the Jyotishis, created the original almanacs and calendars that mark the commencement of the seasons and the many festivals that permeate Indian culture. This class will teach the dosas of the planets, the domains of the body and life in which they manifest, as well as the principles of timing. Lastly, it is important to realize that the astrology of India is not merely predictive, but rather deeply humanistic, for half the literature on Jyotish describes the karmic effects of the planets and the other half describes how to propitiate those karmas through spiritual and ayurvedic measures and other remedies.
