III. Catalog Course Description
This course is a continuation of MUSI 150. Students will continue to learn to read and play major and minor pentascales, simple and compound meters, basic improvisation, solo and ensemble playing.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Perform two octave major scales beginning on white keys—HS with correct fingering
- Read, write, and play pieces in white key major and minor pentascale hand positions
- Play M, m, o , and + triads in all keys
- Play hand over hand arpeggios in all white key major and minor keys
- Read and play in extended hand positions including intervals to the P8
- Harmonize simple melodies with primary triads in Group 1 keys
- Perform solo repertoire of Level 2-3 difficulty
- Perform all Major and minor pentascales and chords HT at MM. 100 in 8th notes
