ENGL-2035 Women's Voices in British Literature
(TEXTS & CONTEXTS, ENGAGING DIFFERENCE) This course surveys the wide range of women's experiences as expressed in a variety of genres. Through literary forms such as domestic realism, sentimentalism, children's literature, detective fiction, the gothic, life writing, social problem novels, and New Woman texts, students will explore the diversity and complexities of women's understandings and assessments of their positions, power, and potential.
