(CREATIVE EXPRESSION) In this course, students are introduced to the foundations of reporting and writing for publication, through the exploration of the contextual background in writing nonfiction reports for the public good. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to various journalistic forms, such as reviews, reports, interviews, profiles, opinion editorials, as well as an introduction to long-form feature writing. Special attention is paid to the history of journalism, as well as to the connection between a free and fair press and democracy. Formerly COM-111.
