FMST150 Mediating Desire

From a foundation in semiotics, considers the ways race and gender are constructed, understood, performed, embraced, commodified, and exploited through representations. Uses representations of, by, and for the margins to engage theories of communication, identity, and representation. Creative final projects encouraged. (Formerly Community Studies 152)

Enrollment is restricted to sophomore, junior, and senior feminist studies majors or by permission of instructor.
