GSM 411 Economic Analysis for Managers

This course covers the major topics of Microeconomic theory and allows students to apply that theory to problem solving related to managerial decision making. The purpose is to make students aware of the way economic thinking is practiced, how the market economy works, the utility of economics in understanding the business environment, and the situations when markets can fail. Students will practice using an economic framework and the behaviors created by economic forces for analyzing markets, business strategy, poor business performance and other management issues. As a component in the MBA curriculum, this course gives students conceptual and analytical tools which support other higher level courses.
