Applied Wargaming Certificate - Curriculum 110
The Applied Wargaming Certificate integrates academic study and real-world practical experience to advance the theory and application of wargaming as a method of inquiry, experience, and education. Comprised of classes from the Defense Analysis and Operations Research Departments, this certificate purposefully integrates operational analysts and operators through wargaming-focused studies, preparing them for operationally supportive assignments in the future. This certificate allows students to develop a deeper understanding of the foundations and principles of wargaming in an applied environment of analysis, experience, and education. The Applied Wargaming Certificate consists of a mixture of wargaming-focused courses that leverage interactive seminar discussions, asynchronous opportunities, and practical exercises to provide the principles and design mechanics of wargame design, allowing students to critically examine sponsored operational problems and issues, then design, develop, and execute wargames to address the sponsor’s issues. Earning this certificate allows the student to experience the craft of wargaming fully and places them on a solid foundation for future wargaming activities.
