HI 312 Race and Modern Europe
An examination of concepts of race in Europe from the 16th century to the present. Changing ideas about race will be considered in relation to topics such as empire, abolition, war, genocide, immigration, and identity. The experiences of diverse racial and ethnic groups will be explored, including people of African descent, Jews, Slavs, and Roma, among others. Prerequisite:
HI 103 or
