Program Description
The Post-Master’s Certificate Option: Applied Behavior Analysis: Autism and Developmental Disabilities is an option for those who already hold a Master’s Degree and would like to pursue becoming a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®). This certificate program meets the 315-hour coursework requirement for students wanting to take the BCBA® 5th Edition examination. Applicants will need to meet additional requirements before they can be deemed eligible to take the examination. This Post-Master’s Certificate Program is rooted in the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA). At Kean University, you will develop an evidenced-based approach to teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Developmental Disabilities. You will learn how to design, implement, and evaluate individualized teaching procedures through the use of empirically validated principles of learning and ABA. The skills acquired in our program will promote best practices and provide graduate students with the skills to improve the quality of life of their learners.
Admission Requirements
In addition to the University’s admissions requirements:
- Baccalaureate and master's degree in an acceptable field of study from a qualifying institution. Acceptable field of study are behavior analysis, education, or psychology. Degrees may also be accepted from degree programs in which the candidate completed a BACB verified course sequence. Applicants who are unsure of whether the field of study of their degree is acceptable may request a preliminary review.

- Professional statement of interest
- Official TOEFL or IELTS score reports (International Students ONLY)
Program Requirements
