ENV 2100 ECOSYSTEM SCIENCE
This course provides an introduction to ecosystem science, focusing on foundations and applications of ecology. Using tools discussed in class and lab, students will begin to understand species interactions in biological communities and relationships of these communities to environmental factors. Human impacts on the environment are examined, as are methods used to conserve and restore species and ecosystems. Laboratories stress the scientific method applied in the field, data collection, and species identification. This course is a major requirement for Biology Majors (B.S.) in the school of Environmental and Sustainability Sciences who are in the Environmental Biology track (3hours lecture, 3 hours lab).
