HORT 132 explores the interface and tools related to current software used for drafting landscape plans and other design work. Students will explore the software and master basic tools and hot keys to help them set up, design, and plot landscape plans and drawings while creating their own blocks and symbols.  This course will not be offered after the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

HORT 132 explores the interface and tools related to current software used for drafting landscape plans and other design work. Students will explore the software and master basic tools and hot keys to help them set up, design, and plot landscape plans and drawings while creating their own blocks and symbols.  This course will not be offered after the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Identify components of a Landscape Construction Plan.
  • Set up a drawing in AutoCAD.
  • Label drawing components on a landscape plan.
  • Produce a landscape plan with proper blocks, labels, legends and lineweights.
  • Navigate and use Autodesk interface and tools to produce landscape plans.
  • Extract bidding information from a landscape plan.
