WELD 235 GMAW/FCAW*
This course is a real world application of the students’ welding skills with an emphasis on the skills learned in WELD 156 GMAW & FCAW 1 and WELD 157 GMAW & FCAW 2. Advanced blueprint techniques will be required so students can develop working blueprints of an instructor approved GMAW or FCAW project. Students will complete the project relying on the welding and cutting skills learned in previous 100 level courses.

- Students will be assessed and graded based upon the successful completion of the course competencies. Attendance, attitude, and adherence to standard shop safety practices. Course competencies will be handed out the first week of class.

- Have a working knowledge of basic layout
- Successfully complete a project agreed upon by the instructor
V. Topical Outline (Course Content)
Apply the skills learned in WELD 149 & 150 Blueprint Reading and Layout to develop a working blueprint for a GMAW or FCAW project approved by the instructor.
Apply the welding skills learned in GMAW & FCAW 1 and 2 by constructing an instructor approved project
When appropriate, apply the skills learned in previous welding classes such as oxyacetylene cutting, and plasma cutting
