This course is an examination of theoretical classroom management models and the practical aspects of behavioral intervention concerning conflict resolution and self-control.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Identify behavior problems.
  • Analyze behavior problems.
  • Collect data for a behavior management plan.
  • Identify and explain a number of positive behavioral supports
  • Explain how to communicate with students concerning personal responsibility and appropriate behavior using the following strategy: peer influence as positive behavioral support
  • Identify reasons colleagues may want to collaborate with other colleagues in order to positively change behavior in students
  • Discuss ways that educators can involve parents and families in behavior management.
  • Apply the knowledge learned in this class to cases presented throughout the semester.
