This course is an examination of theoretical classroom management models and the practical aspects of behavioral intervention concerning conflict resolution and self-control.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Identify behavior problems.
- Analyze behavior problems.
- Collect data for a behavior management plan.
- Identify and explain a number of positive behavioral supports
- Explain how to communicate with students concerning personal responsibility and appropriate behavior using the following strategy: peer influence as positive behavioral support
- Identify reasons colleagues may want to collaborate with other colleagues in order to positively change behavior in students
- Discuss ways that educators can involve parents and families in behavior management.
- Apply the knowledge learned in this class to cases presented throughout the semester.
