This course introduces students to a variety of technological devices, services, and software programs designed to assist students with disabilities in gaining an effective education and leading productive lives.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Know where to access a variety of learning resources.
- Understand information regarding the assistive technology industry, history, relevant legislation, and issues of professional practice and service delivery.
- Possess a basic understanding of the general purpose of assistive technologies, which apply across a wide range of areas.
- Understand basic and specific areas of application for assistive technologies
- Consider and analyze two particularly significant contexts for assistive technology application: 1) educational applications, and 2) vocational applications.
