STAT 118CD Introductory Statistics

This is an introduction to statistics for everyone who needs to collect, describe, and draw inferences from data. We will discuss various sources of data (experiments, surveys, etc.), graphical and numerical descriptions of data, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing for drawing inferences, and linear regression for making predictions. Students will become proficient in the use of R for these tasks." Removed multiple regression. While the class always has simple linear regression, multiple regression is a topic that is only offered in detail when there is enough time in the course.

Prerequisite

Math 101CD or recommendation by the Math Placement Exam.
