CHEM 4483 INORGANIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
Modern methods of synthesizing inorganic and organometallic compounds including electrolytic, high temperature and vacuum-line preparations. The study of the prepared compounds using a variety of techniques including infra-red, visible, ultraviolet spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, chromatographic, x-ray analysis and electroanalytical methods of analysis. Equilibria of acid/base, redox and complexation reactions are emphasized. Development of analytical laboratory skills is stressed. (1 hour of lecture and 6 hours of laboratory)
Prerequisite
CHEM*4481 or permission of instructor
