Program Description
The Master of Arts in Instruction and Curriculum, Teaching English as a Second or Other Language is designed to prepare teachers by developing an understanding of how first and second languages are learned, by acquiring strategies to assist English language learners in achieving proficiency in a variety of settings, and by conducting action research related to ESL/EFL teaching and learning.
Degree Requirements
Completion of one of the following Language/Cultural Learning Opportunities:
- Work or live in a setting where languages other than English are spoken
- One course (3-credits) in a foreign language
- Passing scores on OPI/WPT target language test
