Licensed Professional Counseling, Non-Degree, Post Master’s
Program Description
The Post-Master’s Licensed Professional Counseling program is intended for those who hold previous master’s degrees in counseling, preferably from CACREP accredited programs, and wish to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey. The New Jersey Licensure Law requires a total of 60 graduate credits, including 45 credits in 8 of 9 specified competency areas. An advisor will evaluate each applicant’s competencies and course distribution in order to determine the number of additional credits required, which may be more than the 12 credits for 60 credit total. Some candidates degrees or course deficiencies may disqualify them from enrolling in this program.
Additional certification/admissions requirements:
Post Master’s (Non-Degree): Licensed Professional Counseling
- Master’s degree in Counseling from an accredited college or university
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended
