Counseling, M.A.: School Counseling Option
Program Description
The Master of Arts in Counseling, School Counseling Option, is CACREP and NCATE (now CAEP) accredited and approved by the New Jersey Department of Education for School Counselor Certification. The program provides a common core of counseling competencies, as well as comprehensive training to serve in elementary, middle and secondary school counseling roles, and includes a supervised practicum and 2 internships (in a school setting).
Degree Requirements
- 48 credits
- All students conditionally admitted; following successful completion of core courses, faculty meet to assess whether the student will advance to full admission.
- Practicum and 2 internships
- CPCE (comprehensive examination)
