Program Description
This Master’s program in Special Education with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Autism Spectrum Disorders is designed for those who are not certified teachers, but would like to pursue coming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). At Kean, you will develop an evidenced-based approach to teaching students with autism and other developmental disabilities. Learn how to design, implement, and evaluate individualized teaching procedures through the use of empirically validated principles of Learning and ABA. The skills learned in our program will promote best practices and provide graduate students with the skills to improve the quality of life of their learners.
Admission Requirements
In addition to the University’s admissions requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended
- Three Letters of Recommendation (professional experience)
- An appropriate scholarly writing sample
- Professional resume/CV
- Personal Statement
- Official TOEFL or IELTS score reports (International Students ONLY)
Program Requirements
- 30 credit course sequence
- 9 credits of Research Project
Those who wish to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) examination must meet additional requirements to qualify. See www.bacb.com for certification requirements.
