CHEM 3381 PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY I

Detailed discussions of the theories of thermodynamics and their applications to the behavior of matter. Thermodynamic functions such as U, H, S, G and A, are defined and relationships among them are mathematically derived. The functions are applied in explaining and predicting the properties of gas, chemical equilibrium, phase change solubility, and electrochemistry. (3hr. lec./1 hr. rec.) Required for Chemistry majors. Prerequisite(s): CHEM*1084, PHYS*2096, MATH*3415
