PHYS 4594 QUANTUM MECHANICS

This lecture course is an introduction to the physical and mathematical formulation of quantum mechanics. After a brief historical development, topics considered are the Schroedinger Equation and its application to problems, involving the free particle, potential barriers, the linear harmonics oscillator, central force motion, and the hydrogen atom. Perturbation methods are introduced. Prerequisites: PHY 3191 and 4592, or permission of the instructor. Struyk
